Ruby, Inc.: Out of the Water and into the Mud

Thanks to everyone who donated to the 2012 Polar Bear Plunge to benefit the Special Olympics of Lancaster County.

When we first heard about the event, it was called “nice in the ice,” but we soon learned there was nothing nice about flitting around screaming in the icy cold water except that it was going to be a huge benefit to the community.

Jasmine woke up the morning of the plunge with a wave of trepidation.  She was anxious as she heard that the icy water feels like needles shooting through your legs. Once she got there though, it wasn’t so bad.

In the wake, we raised more than $640 for the cause.

Not only did we double our goal but thousands of citizens with intellectual disabilities who will benefit from the experience.

Wondering what kind of trouble the Ruby, Inc. team is cooking up next?

We’ll be doing the Spartan Sprint on July 15 at Blue Mountain Ski Area. It’s a muddy 3+ mile race designed by seven insane ultra athletes and a Royal Marine. If you have tried trail races, mud runs, tough mudder runs, or a warrior dash, it’s time to step up and join the Ruby, Inc. team.

Why Ruby, Inc.? We’re out to show we’re tough as nails, that our worth is far above rubies and that we thrive under pressure. Join us for the adrenalin rush of your life. This obstacle course is designed to test your resilience, strength, stamina, quick decision making skills, and ability to laugh in the face of adversity. Plus, who doesn’t like to get dirty?
